Haibun: Gathering
As summer leaves, so falls the leaves. We rake the leaves towards ourselves. We feel the need to gather, to pull in towards ourselves and our homes. We seem hardwired to gather as the sun falls shorter into the day. Our instincts are our success, our instincts are our survival.
So we must trust our gut.

to the ground, so brief, fallen
autumn, summer’s thief
