Haibun: Better Day
Angry as I started to work, anything I picked up I wanted to throw. I was all out of sorts, even dropping things.
I asked myself why? Why was I so angry? The answers came racing to my mind: “I want to do this...,” “If I don’t do this, then this will happen...” “I wanted to have this done last week...” There was nothing wrong except the unrealistic expectations I set on myself.
I just took a deep breath and said out loud, “this isn’t worth it.” With that I smiled, turned off the book I was trying to read, and started humming to the music of Guy Clark.
