Haibun: Better Day
Angry as I started to work, anything I picked up I wanted to throw. I was all out of sorts, even dropping things.
I asked myself why? Why was I so angry? The answers came racing to my mind: āI want to do this...,ā āIf I donāt do this, then this will happen...ā āI wanted to have this done last week...ā There was nothing wrong except the unrealistic expectations I set on myself.
I just took a deep breath and said out loud, āthis isnāt worth it.ā With that I smiled, turned off the book I was trying to read, and started humming to the music of Guy Clark.
over the world
pine trees unfurled, daylight
and fall in a whirl
