Haibun: Perspectives
From a small puddle I could see the world. Granted, it wasn’t the global world, but from a puddle I could just jump across, I could see the world.
Two things needed to happen for this to work. First, I needed to change my perspective. I could no longer look down on it, but had to get on the same level. Secondly, I had to keep it at peace.
So it is with those I want to see with, those I need to communicate with. When I’m looking down on them, all I see is myself. I may like the control from looking down, but I see nothing new, nothing changes for me. But together, the world opens up.
one desert puddle
shows all, unmuddled. clearly.
spring’s flaunting early
