Haibun: Spring Time Fossils

Letting go in the moment…

Letting go of the loneliness only to grab it again with a different grip, a different posture, a grip and posture of longing. It is letting go of how “I look with them” and picking it back as ‘paying attention to the rushing and full feelings that pulse, not through me, but as my actual pulse.’ All this so we can see each other—each of shoulders relaxing so all the energy can go straight into our smiles and then flush out slowly through the gaze.

Remember, longing stands longer in the look fulfilled than the slump of loneliness could ever endure.

And also remember, possession of our love in the present happens only when we hold our longings different than our lonelinesses.
