Haibun: Autumn Changes

The thing I’m realizing about autumn is the speed of change. So, from the bud on a branch to the turning into a leaf, the change is constant. But it’s the explosion of diverse colors that makes the change seem so sudden. 

It’s this suddenness, this nowness of it that makes the lazy summer sit up and realize the day is now spent.
