Haibun: Beautiful?

Wandering in Wyoming, there, a burnt tree looked beautiful. Plenty of burned debris from a wild fire not long passed, but this tree struck me.

So much society tell us to look at the young, the sexy, and to idolize the appearance of youth. Yet it is the older ones that can see deeper into my soul, can string the words together and leave me with wisdom. It is the one with white or grey in their hair that has earned the confidence to be present, that was paid in full with pain, years, introspection,  and healing.

Sometimes its the un-beautiful that becomes the most beautiful because we forget to see what we are supposed to see and see what we really see.
